The sound is indeed excellent on this one. However, for me a big drawback is that on the AUD there is a dude clapping that sounds like he is standing inside my ear. A touch too distracting. Other than that, and for many this will not be a big deal, it is fantastic.

Side Note: Due to some temporary med issues with the mom we had the baby home with us over the weekend. Ahhhh, the days of 2 hours sleep and smell of fetid dingo's kidneys eminating on a regular basis. Good thing she's so damned cute.

Congrats on the little one!

It's funny when some AUD and Matrix shows have "that guy" on it. I recall the 9-19-90 Matrix has a conversation going on in between songs between two guys. One of them (taper perhaps?) asks a guy to settle down a bit. The other guy basically says nope as he likes to hoot and holler and have a good time and that's his way of doing it. Brings me back to overhearing similar conversations at shows back in the day.

You bring up an excellent point. So many fine AUD's are lessened by the presence of "That Guy". Also, to be fair, I've heard a few tapes featuring "That Girl". It is for this reason alone that many folks out there refuse to embrace AUD's. And as you say, I also had quite a few shows I attended negatively impacted by "That Guy". Typically he took the form of an out of place frat boy who had injested WAAAAAY too many pharmaceuticals.
I believe the most famous "That Guy" caught on tape would have to be the Woo-Hoo guy from the Palladium show. He certainly set the standard by which all future "That Guy's" are measured.

I suppose we could also have a category for video "That Guy". Althouh the Naked Pole Guy from Veneta could never be topped. Imagine bugging at a fantastic outdoor show and look up only to see some guy's junk waving in the sun atop a pole. Pretty sure it would be tough to erase that image and refocus on the music.

Another good point. I believe that one of the secrets of being a truly stand-out "That Guy" is consistency. Find a tag line, or theme, and stick with it. Anticipating the annoyance that is coming can have the same effect as Chinese water torture. Like your "Classic" example and the "Woo-Hoo" guy, I recall a show I attended where a dude seated close to me would scream "Mr. Charlie!!!" during each break between songs. After the first 3 or 4 tunes when it became obvious that this was going to occur for the rest of the night, my brain started to almost focus on this individual to the point of distraction.
